A developing scholarly profile with Korean Studies at its centre and an interest in culture, society, institutions and media.
My independent research interests centre on Korean Studies, particularly the relationship between cultural practices, social change and the industries and institutions that shape them.
Media and digital platforms are important entry points, but I’m also interested in broader issues of identity, social norms, historical change and the ways institutions affect everyday life.

Identity, social norms, gender and sexuality, historical developments and the institutions that influence public life.
Production, distribution and representation within Korean media, including the economic and cultural contexts shaping creative work.
How platforms structure cultural circulation, visibility and communities, and how audiences engage with cultural products.
I’m especially interested in approaches that produce a traceable empirical contribution—such as bounded datasets, systematic classifications, documented patterns or carefully defined qualitative findings.
My priorities are to ask a useful question, check what scholars already know, identify evidence that can actually address the question, and be explicit about the limits of any conclusions.
