My path from digital creative work toward academic research has made me attentive to how stories, technologies and societies shape one another.
A developing academic path.
I’m Luca Frieling, currently studying for a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business at Siam University in Bangkok.
My academic interests increasingly centre on Korean Studies: especially questions involving social change, cultural production, media, identity and digital platforms. I’m interested in research that brings careful evidence to questions about how people, industries and institutions interact.
I’m building my experience through independent research and related learning, with the aim of pursuing further study in Korean Studies. These are directions I’m actively working toward, rather than qualifications or affiliations already held.

Non-degree online coursework through Kyung Hee University’s Global Virtual School, including the course Hybridity and the Korean Diaspora. This is not a degree or on-campus programme.
Digital creation and independent projects
A substantial background in creating digital content and working within online media communities. The Luca Frieling Archive now helps preserve and contextualize that earlier work.

I hope to develop a long-term academic career connected to Korean Studies. For now, that means concentrating on my undergraduate education, gaining research experience and finding questions that are both meaningful and answerable.
The goal is not simply to accumulate projects. It is to develop work with a clear contribution, rigorous evidence and room for other people to build on it.
